关于此句型的一些用法有点疑惑.
如 表示 与其说不如说
he was not as much angry as disappointed .( angry 前面还要带上much 看起来很奇怪.)
he play not as much football as basketball(这句话对不?）

much是程度副词,修饰angry,意为“很生气”.去掉这个much,就是He was not as angry as disappointed.程度副词much可用来修饰形容词或其它副词,又如：The car was (very) much damaged.汽车损坏十分严重.
应该说He doesn't play as much football as basketball或He doesn't play football as much as basketball,意为“他足球玩得没有篮球多”.

第一个句子 前面+much表示他的生气没有失望多, 因此翻译成与其说他是生气, 不如说他是失望.
第二句我觉得不通, 应该是he plays football not as much as that of basketball. 或者 he doesn't play as much football as basketball.
