increase:to become or to make sth greater in amount,number,value,etc.主要是指使数量,价值的增加.
promote:to help sth happen or devolope.一般用于促进（经济）发展,（政治）关系等.
当然,promote还有促销产品,提升职位等.
所以,记单词一定要看英文释义哦.
promote是与understanding搭配的。但understanding是不与increase搭配的，一般与have 搭配，如 have a better understanding
increase多用于可直观评估的数、量。对于情感是没法increase的。
PROMOTE是提升，促进的意思，而INCREASE是增加，更多用在数目上
