考虑你语法基础可能不错,我就简要回答
1.前面说only after reading...,用的是现在分词,则证明主句中的主语发出read的动作,故主语应为I,而I make sense of sth是说得通的,意为理解了什么什么
2.hope是与knowing平行,所以hoping.整句逗号前为主句,讲他在法官前进行陈述（或近似翻译）,“伴随”着的是“知道自己有罪但（yet）希望得到宽恕.若你觉得和present平行则不会有knowing yet为连词,表”却,然而“用法同其他转折连词如but
3.不知道你熟不熟悉run-on,即使你选的选项有倒装,但是一个逗号不能连接两个完整句,所以必须将其改成现在分词修饰主句动作的形式（若不知道run-on可补充问我）
4.ISE中这种them,they的出现是不明确指代,因为整句没有复数的实意名词.改成people可以
补充：你有两道题都是doing/done sth,SVO的句型不敢选,建议了解一下(也可补充问)
