这本书是一个美国小孩写的日记,他有一个哥哥,还有一个小弟弟.他作为全校最轻的男生去上学打拳击,经常被女生打败,因此还上了学校新闻.他哥哥开了乐队,叫“重金属乐队”,他在夜里去偷听他哥哥的音乐碟,结果被老爸发现,被罚一个星期不能玩电玩.这本书就是写他在学校,在家的一些事情.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid (also known as Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Greg Heffley's Journal or Diary of a Wimpy Kid: A Novel in Cartoons) is a realistic fiction novel written by American author Jeff Kinney. It is the first book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, being released on April 1, 2007.[1] However, a slightly different version of the book was originally published online at FunBrain.com in 2004.[2] A movie of the same name was released on March 19, 2010. It stars Zachary Gordon as Greg Heffley and Robert Capron as Rowley Jefferson.
Plot summaryGreg Heffley receives a diary from his mother, which he refers to as a "journal"and not a diary so he won't get bullied at middle school. He records in it through the course of his first year of middle school.

A film adaption of the book was directed by Thor Freudenthal. The movie stars Zachary Gordon as Greg, Robert Capron as Rowley, Steve Zahn as Greg's father, Rachael Harris as Greg's mother, Devon Bostick as Rodrick, Chloë Moretz as a new character named Angie, and Connor and Owen Fielding as Manny. The film was released on March 19, 2010. The next movie is due to be released on March 25, 2011.
